The Upper East Regional Police is on a manhunt to identify and arrest an assailant who attacked a female officer at Zebilla.
The attack which took place near the Zebilla Senior High School occurred on Wednesday, 6 July 2022.
A statement issued and signed by the Upper East Regional Public Affairs Officer, Assistant Superintendent David Fianko-Okyere, noted that: “The assailant inflicted machete wounds on the head and other parts of the body and also made away with an AK47 Assault rifle.”
It further noted that: “The officer was taken to the Zebilla District Hospital and later transferred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital and is responding to treatment.”
It also assured the public that it will “surely get the perpetrator arrested, retrieve the stolen weapon and bring him to face justice.”
