Former General Secretary of the NPP, Kwabena Agyepong

Former General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyepong, has stated that the party’s delegates will reward him for his efforts and loyalty to the elephant family.

He was responding to a question about whether he had a chance of being one of the five candidates chosen from a field of ten for the November presidential primary.

Speaking to journalists, the aspiring presidential candidate stated that the superdelagtes conference is a shorlistibg exercise and that he is certain of making the top five.

He claimed that the media has made this process one in which a winner must emerge.

He believes that this is a shortlisting procedure, with the top five out of 10 competing in November.

According to him, he has run in several elections, winning some and losing others, and in every race, every candidate must consider both the high and low points.

“But I am convinced that the delagtes of the part will look at what I have done for the party in the past. They will analyse my sacrifices for the party and my loyalty to the NPP and reward me in this superdelegates conference. I’ve been a member of the party since 1992. The part delegates are aware of my service to the NPP and will reward me. I believe I will be one of the five. My first concern is the development of the country, and I remain committed to achieving so.”
