Despite promises made by former Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta to complete the National Cathedral by March 6, 2024, the site remains devoid of any structure, despite significant financial investment.
On Independence Day, the Minority in Parliament held a brief ceremony to symbolically commission the facility. They faced initial opposition from security personnel citing the absence of the contractor and the holiday as reasons for denial of entry. Nevertheless, they proceeded with their mission.
The government promised to commission the facility today, March 6th, but the project is still at the foundation level. Therefore, NDC MPs have performed a symbolic commissioning of the project. #JoyNews pic.twitter.com/ftUicXhT7R
