The Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Professor Peter Twumasi, has been fired. The reasons for his dismissal have not been revealed.

However, Mr. Dodzie Numekevor has been appointed as the Acting Director General of the NSA until a permanent replacement is named.

Before his dismissal, Prof. Twumasi was summoned to the Jubilee House to address various issues, where he appealed for leniency. Despite his efforts, he was unable to persuade the appointing authority to keep his position, as his termination was announced in a message to the board.

Prof. Twumasi took over as Director General of the Authority on December 10, 2019, succeeding Robert Sarfo Mensah, who resigned amid allegations related to the ‘number 12’ investigation by Anas Aremeyaw Anas and Tiger EyePI.
